ZANSHIN: Martial Arts (PreSkill ages 3-8)

Zanshin is a Japanese martial arts concept. Translation literally it mean "remaining spirit" or "follow through" It is the mindset of making sure when you set yourself to a task it is done to the best of your ability. Head instructor, Daniel McCarthy has over 25 years of martial arts experience, and a black belt degree in multiple disciplines. PreSkill A program for very young children. This class specializes in teaching proper behavior, learning skills, and general coordination mixed with basic martial arts skills. Class lessons rotate between martial arts skills, life skills, and general physical skills that all children need. *There is a one time enrollment/ uniform fee of $50 *Cost: $120 per 8 week session. (guests to the club must pay daily usage fee)

Head instructor, Daniel McCarthy has over 25 years of martial arts experience, and a black belt degree in multiple disciplines. Youth: This program is a great place to start martial arts training. Fundamental skills are taught in a manner that is both progressive and fun. This class will prepare students for serious martial arts training as well as other competitive activities physically, mentally and spiritually. *There is a one time enrollment/ uniform fee of $100 *Cost: $120 per 8 week session (guests to the club must pay daily usage fee)

Head instructor, Daniel McCarthy has over 25 years of martial arts experience, and a black belt degree in multiple disciplines. Adult: Adult classes are broken into groups by skill set. We offer a traditional martial arts class as well as classes specific to self-defense. There is a one time enrollment/ uniform fee of $100 *Cost: $120 per 8 week session (guests to the club must pay daily usage fee)

Youth Aquatics

Swim Lessons and Swim Team

PLF is an authorized provider for American Red Cross Swim Lessons. All Lead Instructors are WSI certified with the American Red Cross. Levels 1 - 5 classes are available along with Parent and Child classes, and Swim Team. Parents are asked to remain outside of pool area during lessons. Registration for the SPRING Learn to Swim session is available on-line March 1 - 20, or until a class is full. There is a minimum of 3 children registered per class in order to have the class. Lessons run March 27 - May 20. Regular fees for classes are: Members not under current 24 month contract the fee is $40.00, and Swim team fee is $98.00. Those under current 24 month contract, the lessons are free, and Swim team is $48.00 for the 8-week session. Throughout the year we have Mini-Sessions and clinics that are an additional fee for members as well as guests. If you are unable to register on-line at home please see membership to use their computer to register. Everyone must be registered on-line so we have your email and phone number for emergencies or changes in schedules.

Lifeguard Certification

Friday, Mar 31: 4-9pm. Saturday and Sunday, April 1 & 2: 9-6pm. Monday, April 3: 4-9pm. Register NOW before the panic sets in and everyone is scrambling for a course for their summer job!This is the American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification course. Offered to anyone 15 years and older. Registration is online and is open. Cost is $200.00 for Members and Non-Members. This will cover all the materials you will need for the course. You must pay by phone or at the front desk within 24 hours of registering. Wear a suit and bring goggles. You will need to meet the requirements the first day of class which are: 300 yard swim non-stop no time limit, goggles are allowed. Tread Water for 2 minutes, and a Timed Event of 1 min. and 40 sec. swim 20 yards, surface dive to retrieve a 10 lb. object come to surface and return to starting point and exit water, no goggles allowed. You must pass the pre-test to continue with the course. Be sure before you register you can attend all 4 Days of the course, and that you can pass the pre-test. There is no refund. Lifeguard training season has begun, spots will fill quickly throughout the metro-area and it will be difficult to find a class with openings. Get started now!

TRIATHLON TRAINING FOR ADULTS

THIS IS IT! GRAB A FRIEND AND GET IN THE BEST SHAPE YOU'VE EVER BEEN IN JUST IN TIME FOR SUMMER! Never thought you would do a Triathlon? The swimming and biking just too big a hurdle, or maybe the distance has made you hesitate...don't know how to even get started on the training? Triathlons come in a variety of different distances,from a Sprint to an Ironman. Let our experts get you ready, no matter the distance. Tuesday and Thursday mornings we will swim, working on your stroke technique and conditioning. Saturdays are group bike rides. We encourage you to bring your kids on those...we'll be having tri-training for the kids in June! Of course YOU CAN STILL OPT TO SWIM IN ANY OF OUR ADULT CLASSES ALREADY ON THE SCHEDULE! Our training will also include information on bicycle repair, training scheduling, and fueling yourself during the training and on race day. Registration is online, and on-going throughout the 10 weeks. $200.00

Summer Daycamp

Super sizzling summer fun here at PLF! All day care provided from 9am to 4pm Monday-Friday! We swim every day, do arts and crafts and fun gym games with an afternoon snack(provided). Each week is themed to excite children in learning something new! Swimming suit, tennis shoes, and sunscreen are required! Our day camps provide a balanced schedule that offers a variety of activities throughout the day. Lunch packed from home or can be ordered from the cafe daily or $20 for the week. Price for members is $135 per week plus a $25 nonrefundable fee that's due at registration. Guests will pay a guest fee of $6 per day. We do provide before and after care for $5/day per child. **Cancellation within 7 days of the start of camp will result in forfeiting 50% camp fees** **Cancellation without notice will result in forfeiting full camp fees.**
