Julie Brown

By the time I was in 4th grade, I knew I wanted to be a lawyer. To that end, I earned my B.A. from Iowa State and my law degree from the University of Iowa. I worked as an appellate prosecutor for the Iowa Attorney General for over 13 years. Following the birth of our 3rd son, I became a stay-at-home mom and a member of the newly opened Prairie Life Health and Fitness Club. Soon after, I became a group fitness instructor at the club. I continue to teach water aerobics and cycle classes, both of which I thoroughly enjoy. I have also been blessed with the opportunity to work as a personal trainer here at Prairie Life. Working one on one with my clients allows me to design workouts that are tailor-made to help them achieve their unique fitness goals in a fun and enjoyable manner. Yes, working out can and should be FUN! My clients will warn you, however, that I continue to “practice law” by cross-examining them thoroughly on their dietary and exercise habits. I would love to help you achieve your fitness goals. Let’s have some fun! “Downtown” Julie Brown

Sammy Twedt

I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in biological sciences and minor in environmental sciences. Additionally, I took classes such as strength & conditioning, nutrition, health promotion, and then continued to become an ACE-CPT. I have been an athlete the majority of my life, but my first two years of college consisted of unhealthy eating habits and very little exercise. At that point, I realized I needed to change my lifestyle. It didn't take long before I appreciated my passion for health and fitness and wanted to pursue a career in personal training. I have experience with kickboxing, circuit/interval training, agility & endurance training, strength training, & kettlebells. As a personal trainer, I strive to help each client establish and accomplish their goals by designing programs that will improve coordination, flexibility, form, technique, and overall fitness. I believe that anyone can improve their fitness level regardless of their physical condition!

Ryan Wagers

Upon graduating I began to realize that I could make my passion a profession. Joining the Prairie Life crew has been nothing but beneficial to me and my aspirations. As for education, I’ve earned my personal training certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. In addition, I’ve also obtained an honored Associates in the Arts degree from Southeast College in Lincoln, Nebraska. My goal at Prairie Life is to help others realize the importance of living a healthy lifestyle, and helping them achieve that lifestyle. Chace Chambers

I started at Iowa State first majoring in Kinesiology with a focus in Pre-Physical Therapy. As time went on, my passion for fitness began to grow. I learned the many physical and mental benefits exercise and nutrition can bring to a person. This led me to switch my Kinesiology option from Pre-PT to Exercise Science. Going forward I used my fitness knowledge to influence everyone around me to make healthier choices in their daily lives. At Iowa State I was able to do multiple internships, one in the ISU exercise clinic where I worked with adults in general fitness, and one at Anytime Fitness where I worked with different clients in Des Moines. After the internships I also had the opportunity to work with many athletes of all ages working at a sports performance facility. My past experiences have helped me learn how to train people from many different backgrounds and skill levels. My goal is to help my clients improve both physically and mentally by transforming their bodies and with that bringing them the confidence to succeed in everything they do. Don’t ever be afraid to come to me with any questions you might have, I am always here to help you.
